The Importance of Agency

One of the common misunderstandings regarding the process of buying a home is agency. Who represent the buyer and who represents the seller?

Agency is a legal and written document that will explain the duties and responsibilities to the parties involved. It describes a relationship between you and your Realtor that entitles you to a fiduciary client level of service. This service includes: loyalty, obedience, disclosure, confidentiality and accounting in dealings.

Your real estate agent has the duty to exercise reasonable skill and care in the performance of their duties. This is a duty of honest and fair dealing and a duty to disclose all known facts which materially and adversely affect the sales price.

As your agent, we will represent only you and your interests. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss all of the details of agency and what services we can provide. Please give us a call.
